Delete your account
How to have your Smart Stopwatch account and its data erased, whether or not you still have the app.
This page is for Smart Stopwatch — the app published on Google Play under the package com.smart_stopwatch.app, and this website.
You do not need an account to use Smart Stopwatch. If you never created one, there is nothing here to delete: everything you timed is on your phone, and uninstalling the app removes it.
How to ask
Send an email to privacy@smart-stopwatch.com from the address the account was created with. That is what proves the account is yours; a request from another address cannot be honoured, because it would let anyone delete anyone.
You do not have to explain why, and you will not be asked to. One line is enough:
Please delete my Smart Stopwatch account.
We confirm by email within 72 hours, and the deletion is complete within 30 days.
What is deleted
Everything attached to the account, permanently and with no way to restore it:
- Your email address and your hashed password.
- Every synchronised session — names, durations, dates.
- Your programs, recipes, start lists and their photos.
- Your plan and its history.
- The devices registered for synchronisation, and their tokens.
What is kept, and for how long
Two things outlive the account, and neither can be used to identify you afterwards:
- Server logs — network addresses and request times, kept 30 days for security, then discarded. They are not searchable by account.
- Payment records, if you ever paid — kept 10 years, because accounting law requires it. They hold an amount, a date and an invoice number, not what you timed.
Nothing else survives. We keep no copy, no backup of your sessions, and no anonymised extract of them.
What stays on your phone
Deleting the account does not touch the copy on your device: the app keeps working, offline, with the history it already holds. That is deliberate — losing an account should not lose the timings that were only ever yours.
To erase the local copy as well, uninstall the app, or clear its storage from Android Settings → Apps → Smart Stopwatch → Storage. Both are immediate and irreversible.
From inside the app
Open My account and choose Delete my account. It shows the same address as above, ready to copy — the request still goes by email, so that a deletion is never triggered by a mis-tap on a phone that someone else is holding.
